As many load combinations as you need
Define load combinations or import them. Longitudinal bars and stirrups are determined for each combination and the most critical one governs; capacity utilization ratios are shown.
Shear, torsion and confinement
Shear and torsion are designed in both directions. Bars not supported by a stirrup corner are checked. Confinement and span zones are handled separately.
Formula- and code-referenced reports
Design checks are shown with explicit formulas and code references — on the UI, in the PDF report and in the calculation's digital publication — making verification and review easy.
Questions
- Which codes are supported?
- Column design currently supports TS500:2000 and the TBDY 2018 seismic code. Other international codes will be added.
- Can it design the reinforcement for me?
- Yes. Auto Design selects the longitudinal bar count and diameter and the stirrup diameter and spacing so that every check passes. You can also enter an existing layout and check it.
- Is biaxial bending considered?
- Yes. Each load combination is analyzed with biaxial fiber section analysis and checked against the 3D P-M-M interaction surface using demand/capacity ratios.
